Over the next couple of weeks we will be carrying out the majority of the excavation works that are required for the new extension to the hotel.  During this time please be aware that you are likely to notice increased traffic both on and around the site.  A wheel wash will be in use to limit the amount of dust and dirt on surrounding roads.

We will also be continuing with some demolition works inside the existing building but would not expect this to have a major impact on our neighbours.

If you have any questions about this phase of the work, or the project generally please contact Natalie Hewlett or Sophie Whittle on 0117 907 3400

SATURDAY WORKING

21 June 2010

We are delighted to report that work on the extension and refurbishment of the hotel is progressing well.

Over the next couple of weeks you may notice some noise from site as we begin to break out the concrete for new basement area. There will also be some additional noise and extra traffic on and off the site as the team carries out concrete and steel reinforcement works to the crescent extension. Following the installation of the crane base a couple of weeks ago the crane will be erected on site towards the end of next week in preparation for the next phase of works.

Finally, you will notice that the refurbishment of the existing conservatory will begin. In order to properly restore this iconic part of the hotel it will be dismantled before work is undertaken by two teams of specialist restorers.

If you do have any questions or concerns about the work on site please contact Natalie Hewlett or Kirsty Anderson on

WORK ON SITE

W/C 11 January 2010

Our refurbishment project is progressing well and any passerby will see that much of the existing structure of the hotel is now covered in scaffolding.  This is to allow our construction team to work on the next stage of the project  - the construction of the extension to the main building, as well as continuing the work that is underway to the interior of the hotel. Over the coming weeks, we are expecting a number of deliveries of stone to the site – safety is our top priority and we aim to keep disruption to the local community and the environment to a minimum, however you may notice an increase in traffic to the site as a result of this.

Site Progress

3 March 2010

Our refurbishment works are progressing well and are on schedule for completion in the autumn. The site will start to look less like a building site as all the scaffolding on the outside of the hotel will be coming down in the next few weeks, taking three to four weeks to fully dismantle.  Our construction team will also be commencing the eagerly anticipated landscaping programme.

Health & safety continues to be a top priority and as such we will have to close the pavement that runs alongside the hotel on Parabola Road from 7 June for approximately ten weeks whilst the remainder of external works are carried out. In collaboration with the local council, members of the public should use the pavement on the other side of the road.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience during this time. If you do have any questions or concerns about the work, please contact Kirsty Anderson or Kathryn Williams on 0117 907 3400.
